Bengaluru: Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) NavaKarnataka Janapara Shakthi, an ongoing campaign to understand the issues and concerns of people at the grass roots level across 224 constituencies in the state, is turning out to be a success story.

In the last few months, the campaign has reached out to people in over 200 constituencies and received suggestions about 15 different sectors such as education, infrastructure, agriculture, health, sports etc. Soon after completing the remaining constituencies, all the suggestions will be incorporated into the BJP Manifesto to make it people centric.

Addressing a related press conference on Monday April 16, BJP National General Secretary in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka, Muralidhar Rao said that the aim of the campaign was about giving power to the voice of the people. “Janapara Shakthi has made its presence felt in social media with a reach of around 2 crore through various channels like Facebook, Twitter, Website etc. We have also received 2.5 lakh suggestions from our online campaign and over 1.5 lakh suggestions from on-round activities. Our team members have reached out to 200 to 800 influencers in each constituency as well, to get their opinion for the manifesto,” Rao added.

The campaign has also registered over 3 lakh missed calls from people across the state in support of the drive, said Rao.

Commenting on the road ahead, BJP’s vice president in Bengaluru and MLA of Malleswaram, C N Ashwath Narayana, said an extensive door-to-door campaign will begin by party cadre, who will carry a letter from BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa, seeking their suggestions and views on various issues. “More
