Bengaluru: As the Cafe Coffee Day founder and businessman V G Siddhartha went missing in Mangaluru on Monday, July 29, leaders across political spectrum have been visiting his father-in-law, former chief minister and BJP leader S M Krishna’s residence at Sadhashivanagar, here on Tuesday, July 30.

Among them, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and former assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar also visited his residence to console him.

After having a talk with S M Krishna and consoling him Siddaramaiah addressed the media and said, “It is very shocking to hear such a news. I know Siddhartha from couple of years. He was in touch with me. Moreover, he was a successful entrepreneur who gave employment opportunities to over 50000 people.”

When a reporter asked him a question about the last letter written by Siddhartha, mentioning the pressure that he went through because of the Income Tax Department Director General he said, “I cannot comment on the letter as I’ve not seen it and read it. But, it is true that it is nature of the I-T department officials of building stress and imposing high mental pressure. They conduct investigation in an unlawful manner. They do not abide by the law and do what they want to do.”

It can be recalled that yesterday, Siddhartha was on his way to Sakleshpur from Bengaluru with his driver Basavaraj Patil. As he had reached Sakleshpur, he has asked his driver to take him to Mangaluru, as he wanted to visit his site. At 6 PM he told him to stop by the Nethravathi Bridge in Ullal and said the driver to go ahead. Until 8 PM, when there was no clue of Siddhartha, the driver filed a complaint with Kankanady police.
