Bengaluru: R P Sharma, a senior IPS officer serving as the Director General of Police Housing Corporation was on Wednesday, September 2 evening, rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru after receiving a bullet injury.
According to the police, Sharman (59) the injury was received during an accidental firing caused by himself. The DGP, who is due for retirement in December, is being treated at the Columbia Asia Hospital in Hebbal.
Speaking to TNM, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said that there was an accidental firing at the DGP’s home and that the latter is “fine, conscious, and interacting”.
