Illegal filter sand producing units raided

Ramanagara: The Illegal filter sand producing units in different parts of the district were raided and destroyed.

As per the direction of Deputy Commissioner Capt. Dr K Rajendra a group of officers from the district police along with the officers of the Mines and Geology department raided Virupakshipura, Kadakanahalli and Geejaganadasadoddi of Channapattama Taluk, Kailancha, Aralalusandra, Gendekere and Nagohalli of Ramanagara Taluk and destroyed the filter sand units.

Based on a complaint received about manufacturing and sale of illegal filtered sand, the DC had convened a meeting recently and ordered stringent action against the culprits.

The raid was carried out and cases were registered against the culprits under the direction of B Ramesh, Superintendent of Police.

The raid was led by District Mines and Geology department Deputy Director Dr Pushpa.

Six JCB machines were used to destroy the filter buckets of illegal sand producing units.
