Bengaluru: A student of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati committed suicide inside her hostel room on Wednesday, September 12.
The deceased is identified as Nagashree C Aithal, daughter of an agriculturist Chandrashekar Aithal and Asha Aithal residents of Sooreghatta in Hosanagara of Shivamogga district.
“She was found hanging in her hostel room. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, doctors announced that she was brought dead,” said IIT authorities.
According to the sources, she was under depression for the last few months. She wanted to become a teacher, but her parents insisted her to join IIT and pursue her career in engineering.
Nagashree was an intelligent student. She did her schooling and PUC In Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bengaluru. Her younger sister is studying in Hongirana school Sagar.
Her parents have now rushed to Guwahati said sources.
