Bengaluru: Senior leader and legislator from the Janata Dal (Secular) G T Deve Gowda, who had shown favour for the BJP, on February 17, openly admitted that he cast his vote for BJP’s Laxman Savadi in the MLC election. He had also met Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and other BJP leaders. Now, an enraged JD(S) leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has slammed him for going against the party.
Addressing the media on Monday, HDK had said, “I wonder if GTD is still a JD(S) leader and legislature. He does everything as per his wish. Even after coming to a common conclusion in the JD(S) legislature meeting, he has taken an anti-party stand. He has insulted the decision taken in the meeting.”
It can be recalled that GTD, after casting his vote, had said that voting was a confidential matter which should not be disclosed publicly and clarified that the JD(S) party was not in support of any candidate.
“I have exercised my fundamental right. That’s it,” he said.
