Bengaluru: BJP leader and former minister CT Ravi has clarified that he was not driving his SUV when it mowed down two persons at Alappanagudda village in Tumakuru district on Bengaluru-Hassan national highway on Tuesday morning.
He also denied the allegation that he was drunk at the time the incident.
In a press release issued by the BJP in his name stated that Ravi has suffered injuries on his chest and has been taken to a private hospital in Bengaluru.
“I don’t have the habit of drinking. I was not driving my SUV at the time of the incident. I left from the accident spot only after local inspector permitted me to leave,” he clarified.
He also informed that he has handed over his SUV to the police for the investigation.
Earlier, the family members and friends of the deceased youth who were on the spot had alleged that Ravi himself was driving the SUV, which claimed the lives of two youth named Shashikumar (28) and Sunil Gowda (27), both residents of Surenahalli in Kananakpura taluk.
