Bengaluru: The ones familiar with newly appointed home minister Ramalinga Reddy’s style of work will tell you that he never allows anyone to intervene in his works or powers. Going by this, it looks like the home minister is now keeping his advisor Kempaiah at bay.
It is said that Reddy enjoys good support within the Congress at the national-level, which kind of gave him an edge in the state. Now, if sources are to be believed, Reddy is keeping Kempaiah out of home department’s affairs using this clout.
It is said that, after assuming charge as home minister, Reddy has made sure Kempaiah is away from important events.
“Kempaiah is not invited to any review meeting. Reddy is taking decisions independently. As he is old war horse of the party, even CM can’t direct him in this regard,” said sources.
When KPCC president Dr.G Parameshwar was the home minister, he was forced to depend upon Kempaiah for routine reviews as he was over burdened with party responsibility and home department. “But Reddy is known as a hard worker. So Kempaiah is slowly losing his grip on the department,” said sources.
