Bengaluru: In a big relief to the Congress state leadership, KPCC women’s wing president and MLA, Lakshmi Hebbalkar and the Jarakiholi brothers have avoided a confrontation in the Belagavi APMC election by joining hands at the last minute on Monday, October 15.
According to KPCC sources, the Belagavi APMC presidential and vice presidential elections were held on Monday afternoon. “The differences of opinion between the two factions in the PLD bank election posed a threat to the state coalition government. But, in the APMC presidential and vice presidential elections, both of them agreed to share the power,” said a party leader from Belagavi.
“As per the understanding reached between both the factions, Anand Patil, a supporter of former minister and AICC secretary Satish Jarakiholi, became the president while Hebbalkar supporter Sudheer Gedde was elected as the vice president,” he informed.
