Bengaluru: While most of his counterparts, including Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa opted to go to private hospital for treatment, after being tested positive for COVID-19, Health minister B Sriramulu has stood out with his decision to go to a government-run hospital.
As per sources, Sriramulu has got admitted to state-run Bowring Covid 19 hospital for the treatment, thereby instilling confidence among the people that government hospitals are capable of handling COVID-19 cases efficiently.
It can be recalled that CM BS Yediyurappa, former CM Siddaramaiah and others were criticised for choosing private hospital for COVID-19 treatment over government hospitals.
Sriramulu, who underwent swab testing in Ballari arrived at his Bengaluru residence on Sunday noon and directly went to Bowring hospital in Shivajinagar and got admitted.
“Except mild fever he has no other symptoms,” said sources close to him.
