Bengaluru: Ramanagara MLA Anita Kumaraswamy, the wife of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, termed the defeat of her father-in-law, former prime minister H D Devegowda in the Tumakuru Lok Sabha constituency as the defeat of six crores Kannadigas.
In a press release, the MLA stated that, following HDD’s defeat, many made unwarranted defamatory comments on social media.
“Devegowda is the architect of the modern Karnataka. He has made an immense contribution to the cause of the state. It is a really sad development,” she stated in the press release.
This is the first reaction from HDD’s family after his defeat in Tumakuru in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the results of which were announced on May 23.
