Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court, on April 16, has served notice to BJP senior leader K S Eshwarappa and his son K E Kanthesh regarding an illegal asset case.
The single member Bench of Justice Aravind Kumar took up the petition filed by a Shivamogga based advocate Vinod for hearing. In fact, Vinod had registered a private petition at Shivamogga Lokayukta Court in 2013 that requesting an impartial investigation on the illegal movable and immovable property allegedly earned by K S Eshwarappa between 2006 and 2010.
When the Lokayukta investigation was close to completion, Eshwarappa had filed a petition in the High Court requesting that the case should be dropped as it was filed without following any prerequisites. The court had dropped the case.
However, Vinod questioned the same in the High Court and the Court ordered a re-investigation. Eshwarappa again questioned the investigation order and objected that the Lokayukta Court did not register the certified statement of the complainant. High Court had directed the Lokayukta Court to register the personal certified statement of the complainant and dropped Vinod’s complaint.
Now, Vinod has once again questioned the judgement in the High Court given earlier.
