HC Kishorechandra to become new IG-DGP

Bengaluru: H C Kishorechandra, an IPS officer of 1984 batch will be the new DG-IGP of the state. His appointment will be announced on Tuesday evening. Incumbent DG-IGP R K Dutta is retiring from the service on October 31 evening.

According to the sources, CM Siddaramaiah forwarded the name of H C Kishorechandra, who hails from Mysuru to the top post to UPSC on Monday after consulting with senior ministerial colleagues. According to the sources, senior Vokkaliga leaders including energy minister D K Shivakumar, T B Jayachandra pushed the candidature of H C Kishorechandra who belongs to Vokkaliga community. With this hopes, of senior most IPS officer Neelamani Raju who was on the verge of creating the record of first woman DG-IGP of the state has dashed. The state government has decided to send this 1983 batch officer on central deputation.

Meanwhile, according to the sources, Neelamani Raju is likely to knock the doors of the CAT seeking justice as seniority should be counted while making highest appointments.
