Bengaluru/Mangaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Friday, granted conditional bail to Mohammed Sharif, the prime accused in the Sharath Madiwal murder case.

Hearing the bail petition filed by Sharif, Justice Michael D’Cunha noted that the investigating officers had failed to provide enough evidence against the accused. The bail was sanctioned against a bond of Rs 2 lakh and the surety of two persons. The court also directed the petitioner to submit an undertaking that there would be no tampering of evidence in the case.

It may be recalled that Sharath Madiwal, a RSS worker had been brutally assaulted by a few miscreants at BC Road in the Bantwal taluk on July 4, 2017. Madiwal succumbed to his injuries at a hospital three days after the incident.
