Bengaluru: BJP MLA Preetham Gowda has questioned if the Vokkaligas of the state have given Power of Attorney to the Devegowda family.
Addressing a convention in Mysuru, the MLA from Hasan said that Channapatna HDD’s son, Ramnagar for daughter-in-law, Mandya for one grandson and Hasan for another grandson, has the entire state been converted into family property of former prime minister HD Devegowda?
“The JDS is almost like a private limited company of the Gowda family.
“Prathap Simha, Nagendra and I, we are too Gowdas. We aren’t Pakistanis or Afghan nationals,” he said.
The convention was inaugurated by former minister Srinivasprasad, who questioned why the JDS fails to find good candidates for itself and ends up promoting dynasty politics.
“Devegowda is now 86 and if he becomes an MP again, he will be 91 when his term ends. Earlier, CS Puttaraju and Cheluvarayaswami used to take HDD to parliament, now let his grandsons help him walk to Parliament instead of contesting polls,” he said adding everyone respects HDD, but no one trusts him.
