Bengaluru: Fire broke out at the HAL’s forge and foundry division’s dumping yard on Wednesday, April 29 morning.
The incident that occurred at around 9 AM created panic among the residents who raised the alarm. An HAL emergency team rushed to the spot and began operations to put out the fire.
Reportedly, a magnesium scrap stockpile has caught fire at the HAL campus on the Old Airport Road and the emergency team of eight members is capping the same with mud.
The police have cordoned off the area.
So far, no injuries or casualties have been reported. The Fire and Emergency personnel have also arrived at the spot to help put out the blaze.
According to a report by The Hindu, since magnesium items are present at the scrapyard, the emergency personnel are having to use methods other than pouring water, to contain the fire.
