Bengaluru: Bengaluru city is witnessing a rapid rise in the number of H1N1 cases. According to BBMP authorities, the city has reported a total of 109 H1N1 positive cases since September 1, however, no deaths have been reported so far.
According to the authorities, private hospitals have been directed to report all the positive cases to the BBMP health division in order to avoid a confusion in the number of cases. “As per the data, Mahadevapura zone has reported the highest number of cases with 43 positive H1N1 cases. Most of the IT companies in the state are located in this zone,” said an officer from the BBMP.
“However, compared to 2017, the number of positive cases is less. Ths is good news,” they observed.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, October 11, Mayor Gangambike held a review meeting on H1N1 preparedness and directed the authorities to ensure that there is enough supply of medicines in all the BBMP hospitals.
