Bengaluru: Even though the transfer season has concluded, it seems there is no end to the transfers. In a fresh development, the government, in its notification dated November 7, has directed the police department to transfer all the police officers who are in the same commissionerate or station over the last 5 years, starting from November 2015.
This order is applicable to all the officers above the rank of Inspector.
According to the notification, the government has directed the department to prepare the list of all officers who are working in the same place and transfer them from immediate effect.
“This decision has been taken to ensure that police will not lobby in the same jurisdiction or create a maffia. There are allegations that police are using their position to support illegal activities. This will end such nexus,” informed sources in the police department.
According to the sources, CCB- Bengaluru, which is investigating a few high profile cases, has been exempted from this order. “The CCB officers are specialised in their areas. So this order will not apply on them,” said a senior officer.
