Bengaluru: With the idea of decentralising the administration, the state government has decided to appoint four special commissioners of IAS cadre to the eight zones of the BBMP. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the high-powered committee headed by CM BS Yediyurappa. The meeting also decided to stop the commercialisation of the residential areas to ensure that normal life is not disrupted. The meeting also decided to introduce night shift for the pourakarmikas to take up the waste collection round the clock.
Re-launching the Janaspandana initiative: In the meeting, CM BS Yediyurappa announced that henceforth he will hold janaspandana meeting with the city residents once in every 15 days. In the meeting, it was also decided to call a meeting of all the MLAs of the city in the next two weeks.
R Ashok absent: Interestingly, even though the meeting was related to the Bengaluru related issues, BJP senior leader R Ashok was absent for the meeting.
