Bengaluru: In an unprecedented move, Governor Vajubhai Vala extended the tenure of Hampi Kannada University Vice-Chancellor Mallika Ghanti for the second time by a month.
According to the sources in the university, Ghanti’s tenure as the VC was completed in January 2019. It was extended to February 8 and now her term has been extended by another month.
“Ghanti is known as one of the progressive thinkers of the state. She was on the line of fire of Sangha Parivar all these years. People are surprised with two extensions being given to her,” said sources in the state higher education department.
