Bengaluru: Two separate statements issued by Malavika Avinash, close friend of Gauri Lankesh and Indrajit Lankesh, brother of Gauri Lankesh come as blessings in disguise for the BJP and the RSS, which were at the receiving end following the murder of journalist, social activist Gauri Lankesh.
Indrajit Lankesh, who was not in good terms with his sister till her death created a controversy by slamming AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi in an interview with Republic TV. On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi had blamed the RSS for increasing incidents of religious intolerance in the country and linked Hindu communal forces for the murder of Gauri Lankesh. But Indrajit Lankesh who had recently described B S Yeddyurappa as the modern day Basavanna used Republic TV platform to give clean chit to the RSS by stating if Rahul Gandhi has any pieces of evidence he must share it with the SIT.
Meanwhile, Malavika Avinash, BJP state spokesperson is one of the first people to reach the murder site and was seen consoling Gauri’s family members. She is considered as one of the friends of Gauri. But on Wednesday late night she posted a Facebook post criticising rationals for dragging the RSS into the case.
“The Leftists & her Journalist friends want Justice for Gauri Lankesh! Agreed, we also demand that the killers be caught at the earliest, but who are they demanding it from? Just like they are swinging their swords against some “imaginary Right-wing” killer, they are demanding Justice also from the wind & air?,” she wrote.
She further stated that what’s worse, they are parading tragedy tourist Rahul Gandhi like a mascot who neither knows Gauri nor what she stood for but simply decides to play politics over her dead body!
“They should instead haul up his Govt & Siddaramaiah for failing to nab the killers of Kalburgi, for taking the fear the law out of the killers who targeted Gauri & for failing to have adequate intelligence that could have saved her life!,” she concluded.
Renowned journalist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead by miscreants at her residence on September 5 and since then there has been comparison of this cold-blooded murder to that of murder of rationalist M M Kalaburgi. Gauri was known for her anti-establishment stand, specifically criticising policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.
