According to the trending topics released by the Twitter for Wednesday morning, #GauriLankesh emerged as the no 1 topic followed by #teachersday. It was more used than #Mumbaiganeshvisarjan, #Onam etc showing her popularity.
Condoling her death, RJD chief and former CM of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav tweeted that noted journalist and critic of right wing politics #GauriLankesh silenced in New India. Terrible time for dissent. RIP Bravo journalist
MP and former union minister Shashi Tharoor also expressed his deep condolences. He tweeted: Saddened by the murder of #GauriLankesh. India wasn’t supposed to be a country where journalists are silenced by bullets. Her voice rings on.”
