Bengaluru: K E Krishnegowda, a freedom fighter, died at the age of 98 at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Thursday, November 15. He is survived by his wife, Gangamma and three children Suresh, Yatish and Chaya.
A native of Koodalli, Krishnegowda took active part in India’s freedom struggle during the ‘Quit India’ movement. Apart from his efforts to imbibe the youth with patriotic values, Krishnegowda was also known for his contribution to agriculture, cottage industry and rural development.
According to sources in the family, his final rites are scheduled to be conducted this afternoon in Koodalli.
Meanwhile, Krishnegowda’s death has been condoled by MLA M P Kumaraswamy, former MLA B B Ningaiah, former MLC Motamma and Karnataka Growers’ Federation president Jayaram Gowda.
