Fourteen from Bengaluru, nine others test COVID-19 positive; Tally rises to 1079

Bengaluru: As many as 14 people from Bengaluru Urban and nine others tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, May 16 morning. In total, 23 cases have been reported today, bringing the state’s tally up to 1079.

All of the 14 cases reported from Bengaluru Urban today are secondary contacts of Patient 653.

Hassan has reported three cases, all of whom have inter-state travel history from Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Udupi reported one case today, a one-month-old baby girl who returned with her family from Dubai recently.

Mandya, Dharwad, Davanagere, Ballari and Bagalkot also reported one news COVID-19 case each on Saturday.

As per the bulletin released by the health department, of the 1079 cases reported from the state till date, 36 are deaths, one is a non-COVID caused death and 494 are discharges.
