Bengaluru: Former DG-IGP Shankar Bidari has dropped a bomb on the state medical education sector by alleging that Rs.1,100 crores medical scam has been reported in the state last year.
In a social media post, he blamed seat blocking as the main cause of this scam.
“The Rajiv Gandhi Health University has written to the Karnataka government on 28th September, 2019 that by way of seat blocking, a scandal of Rs.1,100 ( Eleven Hundred Crores ) has taken place in one year and private medical colleges have collected cash of Rs. 1,100 crores,” he said.
He questioned what the state government and Income Tax Department are doing and if the issue has been amicably sorted out to the benefit of all.
The state government is yet to respond to the allegations.
