Bengaluru: After five disqualified MLAs out of 17 returned back to the city on Monday, July 29, two more disqualified MLAs- Ramesh Jarakiholi and Shrimant Patil arrived in the city, today on Tuesday, July 30. Both landed at the Kempegowda International Airport on Tuesday morning.

Speaking to media, Jarakiholi said, “As the case pertaining to disqualification of MLAs by former speaker Ramesh Kumar is already before the Supreme Court of India, we will not speak much about it. The decision on when to bring up the case in the court will be taken by our advocates.”

“There is no need to equate our case with the earlier disqualification cases of MLAs in different states under different political scenarios. In this case, we had already tendered our resignation. Only after we submitted our resignation, are we disqualified. I’m of the hope that the Supreme Court decision will bring justice to us”, he added.

Reacting on disqualification decision, he said, “Whosoever has taken the decision of disqualifying us, let God bless them. Especially, for former speaker Ramesh Kumar, we wish him good. Let us not unnecessarily speak ill about him, as he is a very genuine person. I’m not sure so as to why he has taken such a decision of disqualifying us.”

Meanwhile, he has assured of a press meet by all the disqualified MLAs very soon.

Later, he left to meet former chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader S M Krishna, to console him on his son-in-law and founder of Cafe Coffee Day V G Siddhartha’s missing issue.

It can be recalled that former speaker Ramesh Kumar, on Sunday, July 28, had disqualified the remaining 15 coalition MLAs according to the 10th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. Ramesh Jarakiholi, R Shankar and Mahesh Kumathalli were disqualified by former speaker Ramesh Kumar on Friday, July 26.
