Bengaluru: Former minister P.G.R. Sindhia who hails from Kanakapura has joined Congress. He joined the Congress at a party rally in Basava Kalyana in the Bidar district.
KPCC president DK Shivakumar, former CM Siddaramaiah, and other leaders received him to the party fold.
In Basava Kalyana, Maratha voters are in a huge number. This roping in by Congress is seen as a move to win Maratha votes as Sindhia is a Maratha leader.
Sindhia started his political career under the leadership of former CM late Ramakrishna Hegde. He served as home minister and in other important portfolios.
