Bengaluru: Former minister Anand Asnotikar was detained at the Bengaluru Airport after a pistol was found in his bag during the security checks, on Saturday.
Asnotikar was on his way to Goa from Bangalore Airport when the incident took place.
A strict proceedure needs to be followed before carrying arms while traveling by flight. However, the former minister had not followed any procedure while carrying the arms, said the sources.
The former minister carries the license for the pistol.
Anand Asnotikar was a JDS candidate from the Angola-Karwar assembly constituency in the 2018 assembly elections. He had lost to BJP candidate Rupali Naik.
