Bengaluru: Marigowda (56), an ASI part of former CM Siddaramaiah’s police escort died of cardiac attack after former CM’s convoy witnessed a series of accidents near Srirangapatna of Mandya.
All started on Wednesday morning when former CM Siddaramaiah was on his way from Bengaluru to Mysuru via road. Near TM Hosur gate, his convoy met with a series of an accident damaging the three police vehicles. All escaped unhurt.
Marigowda, an ASI with district reserve police was asked to lodge a complaint with the Srirangapatna police in connection with the accident. After visiting the Srirangapata police station, he returned to his residence in Mandya where he died of cardiac attack.
Final rites of the deceased officer were held on Thursday early morning. Senior police officers attended the funeral procession.
