Former CM Siddaramaiah tests positive for COVID-19

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

In a tweet on Tuesday, August 4, the former CM informed that he has been admitted to the hospital on advice of the doctors and he has urged all those who came in contact with him to check out for symptoms and to quarantine themselves.

“I have been tested positive for Covid-19 & also been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors as a precaution. I request all those who had come in contact with me to check out for symptoms & to quarantine themselves,” he tweeted this morning.

He had undergone a test on Monday after he developed fever.

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa was tested positive on Sunday, following which his daughter Padmavathi and six staffers of his office residence too turned positive for the disease.

Siddaramaiah is stable and under treatment: Manipal hospital chairman

H Sudarshan Ballal, chairman, Manipal hospital informed that leader of opposition and former Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramiah is stable and under treatment.

“He is admitted to Manipal Hospitals for evaluation of fever and the antigen test for Covid-19 is positive. He is doing well and is stable currently. He is undergoing appropriate evaluation and management by a multidisciplinary team of doctors,” he informed.

Meanwhile, the health department started tracing primary contacts of Siddaramaiah. His entire family was in touch with Siddaramaiah as he visited his native village on Saturday.

Several senior leaders of the party from Mysuru too are expected to go for self-isolation.
