It is gathered that two lakes located in 30 acres of land within the Lalbagh park will be utilised for the construction of this artificial falls. An abandoned stone-quarry will be used for the water flow.

Project highlights:

According to the sources, PWD has been entrusted with the responsibility of constructing this falls. The height of the falls will be around 20-feet and a 240 horsepower pump will be used for pumping water. The project will cost an estimated Rs 2.7 Crore.

According to Dr. M Jagadish, Joint Director, Horticulture department, the project was first proposed two years ago. “Due to several reasons, the project got delayed. Work on the project will start soon,’ he said.

According to the horticulture department officials, main purpose of construction of this falls is to attract more tourists to the park. “An artificial forest will also be developed around the falls to make it more realistic,” said another officer.
