Bengaluru: Thousands of fish were found dead at Mutkur lake near Mahadevapura of the city. Locals alleged that miscreants mixed poisonous chemicals in the lake water causing the fish death.

According to the locals, this year the lake was filled with clean water following the heavy rainfall, but on Wednesday some unknown persons mixed poisonous chemicals causing the death of fish in large number. As the news spread the police rushed to the spot.

The locals say that some miscreants must have released chemical waste into the lake. The lake is located on the outskirts of the city and is hence an easy location to release hazardous chemical waste from Bengaluru city. They have urged the police to install CCTVs to curb such occurrances.
