Bengaluru: The BBMP, which is facing severe financial crunch is planning to sell 235 properties. To facilitate this plan, the BBMP has decided to bring amendments to the KMC Act.
According to the sources, these are commercial properties and the BBMP is receiving meager amounts in the form of the lease amount. Now, to improve the financial condition, the BBMP is planning to sell off.
“These properties are given on lease basis. It is not helping the BBMP in anyway. So, we have decided to sell them,” said N Manjunath Prasad, BBMP commissioner.
According to the sources, the BBMP is expecting Rs. 3,679 crores by selling these properties.
