Bengaluru: After Janata Dal (Secular), now it is the turn of Congress state unit to go aggressive on social media.
The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) which has the dubious distinction of being the only major party in the state without official social media page will soon launch its official pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
According to the KPCC president Dr. G Parameshwar, party headquarters on Queen’s Road in Bengaluru will have a dedicated room for social media page maintenance and updates.
“It is true that KPCC is not on social media much. But in next one month, our team will be ready with a war room. On all social media including Whatsapp, party will launch an aggressive campaign,’ he said.
According to the party sources, the KPCC has identified 20 leaders to lead the social media team. Prof. BK Chandrashekhar, V R Sudarshan, BL Shankar and others have been given the role of handling the social media campaign. “These leaders are tech savvy and can give a fresh dimension to party strategies on social media,” said a party leader who is close to the developments.
