Bengaluru: Ambitious film city will come up in Mysuru only. Earlier, it was decided to shift the film city to Ramanagar.
State information and public relations minister CC Patil made this announcement.
The proposed film city will become up in the Himmavu area where the KIADB sanctioned 110 acres of land for the information department for this purpose.
Originally film city was proposed in Bengaluru. However, later it was decided to set up in Mysuru district to promote tourism activities. Later it was shifted to Ramanagar.
In Mysuru locals had opposed moving the film city out of the district citing it will affect the local business environment. They had demanded the state government to continue the project in the district only.
The proposed film city will come up in Himmavu which is on the Mysuru-Nanjangud national highway.
