Bengaluru: The Higher Education Department has issued orders fixing the engineering, architecture course fees for government and aided colleges in the state for the academic year 2018-19.
For the students who get admitted into government engineering colleges and university-affiliated colleges for engineering and architecture (100% government seats), the annual fees will be Rs 15,000 and including the university fees, it would be Rs 19,090.
The fees would be similar to government seats in private aided colleges also. For the seats distributed through Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the students who get admitted for the aided courses of private aided colleges (95% of the total strength), the fee will be Rs 15,000 and including the university fees, it would be Rs 19,090 per annum.
Fees have been fixed from Rs 1.21 Lakh to Rs 1.7 Lakh for 5% management seats.
For the year 2018-19, first-year engineering and architecture course, students would have to pay the fees as per the revised fee structure till the end of their graduation course.
Other than minority institutions, in other private colleges, management seat quota for NRI and other quotas should not exceed the specified 25 percent ceiling during the admission (NRI-15% and management board-10%). Under the same quota, for minority private colleges, the specified 30% share should not be violated, said the directive of the department.
