Bengaluru: The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene are planning to block the roads all across the state today in protest against the proposed amendments to the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
Speaking to Newskarnataka, Raitha Sangha president Kodihalli Chandrasekar informed that the state government is planning to remove the major features of the 2013 act including the mandatory farmers’ consent clause, four folds compensation on the prevailing market price etc. “The state government is planning to acquire the land through a committee headed by the DCs in every district. We will not allow this to happen,” he said.
“The farmers will block all the roads leading to Bengaluru and even the Bengaluru city roads. We want to send a strong message to the government,” he added.
