Bengaluru : Devarhippargi MLA A S Patil Nadahalli joined Bharatiya Janta Party on March 21 and is likely to contest from Muddebihal Assembly Constituency in the forthcoming assembly elections.
BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa welcomed the legislator by offering him the party flag in the presence of other party leaders.
Former MLA of Madhugiri Assembly Constituency Gangahanumaiah and Zilla Panchayat member from Pavagada, Kumaraswamy too joined the saffron brigade on the occasion. Incidentally, Kumaraswamy is the son of former minister Venkataramanappa.
Nadahalli was expelled from the Congress citing anti-party activities first. He was earlier suspended from the Congress Legislative Party for his demand for separate statehood for North Karnataka and for criticising Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
People will also teach a fitting lesson to the Bharatiya Janata Party which did injustice to the people of North Karnataka by halting the implementation of the Mahadayi project, he had said, while identifying himself with Janata Dal (Secular).
Despite sending signals about joining regional party JDS to achieve his goals, MLA Nadahalli has finally joined BJP with the hope of contesting from Muddebihal Assembly Constituency.
