Bengaluru: KC Ramamurthy, founder of the CMR group of institutions who quit Congress and resigned from the post of MLA recently joined BJP in New Delhi.
He joined the BJP in the presence of party national president Amit Shah.
Ramamurthy, who surprisingly quit Congress recently, had hinted at joining the saffron party.
His decision to quit Congress came after IT raids on the residences of Dr G Parameshwar and RL Jalappa, who are known for running group of educational institutions.
Earlier, soon after his resignation, he had told reporters, “I had conveyed my decision to quit, to the Congress leaders long back. But no one took it seriously. I feel the party has failed to utilise my experience”.
The BJP likely to nominate Ramamurthy to the Rajya Sabha in the coming Rajya Sabha election from the state, say sources.
