Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has said that there can be no compromise when it comes to the Kannada language. “Each and every person living in Karnataka is a Kannadiga. The language must be used both officially and in day-to-day conversations,” he said while delivering his Karnataka Rajyotsava address at Kantirava stadium in the city on November 1.
The Chief Minister said that people who comes to Karnataka from other places should undoubtedly retain and nurture their culture, but they should also learn Kannada. “They should respect this state and live here. To save Kannada language, the Kannadigas must first shed their blind love for English,” he said, specifically calling upon youngsters to read more Kannada books.

Meanwhile, Kumar said that false news were being spread that the state government has issue an order to hoist only the national flag and not hoist the Kannada flag.
“This is far from being true. The tradition followed till now will be continued,” he said. Mayor Gautham Kumar and others were present.
