Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s statement that senior most Congress leader, Mallikarjun Kharge should have been made CM seems to not have gone down well with the former CM, Congress legislature party leader Siddaramaiah. In a series of tweets, he hit back at CM HDK stating that even PWD minister H D Revanna is eligible for the CM’s post, but only that his time needs to come.
Siddaramaiah, in a tweet in Kannada, stated that what CM H D Kumaraswamy stated about Mallikharjun Kharge is correct. Kharge is suited for the CM’s post as well as a much bigger position. Many JDS and Congress leaders are fit for the CM’s post including H D Revanna.
If sources in the Congress are to be believed, Siddaramaiah is not too happy with HDK’s recent statements about him. “He is very upset with the JDS leadership including CM HDK. If Congress candidate C H Vijayashankar is defeated in the Lok Sabha elections, he will bring down this government,” said his close associate.

Meanwhile, PWD minister H D Revanna has reacted to Siddaramaiah’s tweet saying, “He loves me. So he expressed his desire to see me as the CM. I thank him.”
“But as of now, the CM’s post is not vacant. So there is no question of me becoming CM now,” he said.
