After holding a meeting with the top executives of the private sector hositals, here in the city, on Monday, June 28, the CM said that the private hospitals have to join hands with the government in battling the COVID-19 situation in the state.

“The cases are only increasing in the state and we expect the private hospitals to do their bit to tackle the situation. They have to set aside beds to treat the COVID patients. There is no other go,” the CM said adding that if one compares the statistics, then Bengaluru is in much better position than most other metros.

Delhi has 49,301 COVID cases, Mumbai has 74,252 cases, Chennai has 51,699 cases, Kolkata has 5,402 cases, while Bengaluru has 3,321 cases.

“However, we have to look forward and chalk out ways to check the spread of the pandemic. Sports stadiums, marriage halls, convention centres, schools and colleges across the city will be readied with beds and healthcare facilities to treat more cases in the event of more people testing positive,” he reiterated.

Anticipating a surge in cases in July and August, the state government is mulling stringent action against the virus spread.
