Bengaluru: In a major embarrassment to the BJP and the former CM B S Yeddyurappa, the Congress won in the Shikaripura Town Municipal Council election.
The election was held on May 29 and the counting was held today from 8 AM.
The Congress won 12 seats while the BJP won just eight seats and independents won three seats. This means that the Congress party will capture power in the Council.
It can be recalled that in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the BJP won in Shikaripura.
