Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the Gauri Lankesh murder case is now facing a strange problem. Following its announcement that those who come forward to give correct lead or clue into the case will be given Rs. 10 lakh as prize money, the SIT is flooded with calls. The eager, enthusiastic callers are reportedly ‘tutoring’ the SIT on probing the case.
In a bid to arrest the accused at the earliest, the SIT had published its contact numbers along with the prize money. As expected, many are taking this as a chance to alert the officials on the possible role of few organisations, persons and also to give tips on probe. Many want the SIT to change the way it is carrying forward the investigation.
According to the sources, despite the SIT receiving over 50 calls a day, nobody has given any clue which could be of help to the investigating body.
Meanwhile, according to the sources, the SIT has zeroed in on three to four vehicles possibly used in the murder of Gauri Lankesh.
