Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara created a new confusion in the state political circles on Saturday, November 17 by stating that he was ready to become the chief minister of the state if the Congress high command decided so.

Speaking to the reporters at Belagavi, he stated that he has more than 10 years experience as a minister and every eligibility to become the CM.

“If the high command directs, I am ready to become CM,” he stated.

Meanwhile, he also made it clear that the coalition government was safe and would complete its term of five years. “The cabinet expansion will be done by this month end”, he stated.

His statement came as a big surprise for the coalition government leaders including state Congress leadership as there is no discussion happening about the change in the CM of the state.

“CM post has no vacancy. No one knows why he made such a statement,” said a Congress leader.
