Bengaluru: A group of men allegedly assaulted a women’s paying guest owner for not allowing them to enter the PG in the wee hours of Tuesday, April 2. The owner of Green House Ladies PG, his brother and their neighbour are admitted in a private hospital.

Reportedly, Babu, a resident of Mangammanapalya and five of his accomplices, who were all drunk, jumped the wall of Green House Ladies PG and began banging on the doors, demanding to be let in. The men wanted to drink with the women in the PG. PG owner Jagan Reddy (26) asked the men to leave the building but they did not pay heed to him and began breaking the flower pots.

“As Jagan rushed outside to confront the drunken men, one of them smashed a flower pot on Jagan’s head. Jagan’s brother Bhaskar and their neighbour Anil who rushed to his rescue were also assaulted with a wooden log. As Jagan started bleeding after the assault, the men sensing trouble, fled the scene,” say police sources.

A case has been registered with the Bandepalya Police and they have been successful in nabbing Babu on Thursday, April 4. All the other accused are on the run and yet to be arrested.

All the six men have been booked under sections 307 (Attempt to murder), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 147 (Rioting), 148 (Rioting with a deadly weapon) and 149 (Unlawful Assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.

Jagan’s condition is critical. Bhaskar and Anil are recovering.
