Bengaluru: State Dharmika Parishat (religious body) formed by the endowment department which is meeting on January 20 and 21 in the city is likely to take a decision on implementing dress code in the temples managed by the department.
Endowment minister Kota Shrinivasa Pujari informed that several organisations have been demanding Kerala like dress code even in the state. “We will take a decision in this regard in the meeting,” he stated.
“In several temples of Kerala, the dress code is followed strictly. We are studying the pros and cons of such a system. Several organisations including VHP, Bhajarangadal and the likes have already submitted a memorandum in this regard,” he explained.
In most of the private and mutt managed temples, a dress code is already implemented across the state.
