Bengaluru: The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) warned the private schools against following coercive measures to collect fees from the parents who are affected by Covid 19.
This warning was issued by the DPI after reports that a private school in Mandya and a few schools in Bengaluru declined permission for the students to appear for the SSLC preparatory examinations.
“As per the state education act, DPI has supreme powers. If the private schools don’t amend their behavior, we will take strict action against them,” warned S Suresh Kumar, Minister of primary and secondary education.
He appealed to the private school management to follow a humanitarian approach this year as all the families are hit by Covid 19 crisis.
