Bengaluru: With no reprieve from the COVID-19 infections, the state government decided against allowing the students to visit their schools from Monday.
As per the Unlock 4.0 rules, the central government decided to allow students between Class IX and XII to visit their schools on a voluntary basis and discuss subjects with their teachers.
However, this rule will not be applicable in Karnataka.
“As the COVID-19 cases are still surging, we decided against implementing this relaxation option,” said SR Umashankar, principal secretary, DPI.
“Basically we are not using this Unlock 4.0 option. We will review the decision again on September 30,” he said.
This means, all the schools and PU colleges will remain shut till September end.
