Mangaluru: Following news of KPCC working president SR Patil’s resignation the BJP took a jibe at the coalition government of the Congress-JD(S).
“The downfall of the empire that was built after mocking people’s mandate has begun. @INCKarnataka senior leader Sri. S R Patil resigns. This is only the beginning of the downfall of power hungry government (sic),” tweeted the Karnataka wing of BJP.
The senior Congress leader tendered his resignation from the post of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Working President to AICC President Rahul Gandhi.
According to party sources, SR Patil cited the party’s abysmal performance in north Karnataka in the recent assembly election as the reason for his resignation.
